Curious about how to leverage MarketBeam's integration with Slack? Check out ourSlack Installation guide for detailed instructions.
Introduction
MarketBeam now offers Slack integration, allowing users to receive notifications directly within Slack. Administrators are tasked with installing the MarketBeam Slack App within their workspace. Once installed, users can choose Slack Notification as their preferred method for sharing posts, receiving notifications prompting them to share content via MarketBeam.
Important Note: This integration is available only for Slack workspaces on paid plans.
The MarketBeam Slack App comprises three tabs: Home, Messages, and About.
Home
This provides users with instructions on sharing social media posts. This guidance text can be customized and updated within MarketBeam's Team Settings page.
Messages
The Messages tab displays notifications for each social media post created by the MarketBeam admin. Each message includes a one-click Share button, enabling users to quickly share content on their connected social media accounts.
Roles
Within the Slack integration, there are three key roles to consider:
IT Admin (for Slack Workspace)
Typically managed by IT departments, IT admins oversee app installations within Slack workspaces. They are responsible for approving apps for installation, including the MarketBeam Slack App, which can be accessed at the provided link.
For this integration, the IT admin needs to approve the MarketBeam Slack App, which is available at MarketBeam Slack App link.
MarketBeam Admin
MarketBeam admins are tasked with managing Slack settings within the MarketBeam application. As part of this integration, they are responsible for installing the MarketBeam Slack App for the designated Slack workspace.
MarketBeam User(s)
MarketBeam users play an active role by updating their sharing preferences on their MarketBeam profile page to select Slack Notification. Once enabled, users receive notifications in the MarketBeam Slack App, prompting them to share posts created by the admin.
FAQ
Why is my app not getting installed?
Please make sure the IT Admin has reviewed and approved the app for the workspace.
Why are some users are not receiving notifications?
The most common reasons are:
- The slack app has been uninstalled or IT has revoked the approval for the app. Review the Slack app installation and also test the connection by clicking the Test Token button in team settings.
- The user has not chosen Slack Notification in their profile settings.
- The user’s email in MarketBeam does not match their email in Slack Workspace. It has to be an exact match.
