Purpose and Overview
The Timeline page is a chronological feed of actions taken by users and the platform. It functions as an audit log, providing granular context for each engagement and helping administrators ensure appropriate use of the system.
Elements of Each Entry
-
User Information – An avatar and name identify who performed the action.
-
Action Description – A sentence describes what happened (e.g., “Clicked and viewed a post” or “Shared a post”) and when it occurred. The description often includes the device and location used.
-
Social Network Icon – An icon indicates whether the action took place on LinkedIn, X, Facebook or Instagram.
-
Post Snippet – A small preview of the associated post helps you understand the context.
Filters and Search
At the top of the Timeline, filters allow you to narrow results by user, post title, action type or time range. This is crucial for audits, troubleshooting or investigating unusual activity.
Using the Page
-
Audit Compliance – Monitor how employees interact with corporate content. If an employee shares a post incorrectly or on the wrong channel, the Timeline helps you identify when and how.
-
Investigate Anomalies – If analytics show unexpected spikes or drops, use the Timeline to see what happened at that time. A surge in clicks might coincide with a viral share; low engagement could relate to few employees sharing.
-
Review Activities for Training – When onboarding new employees, show them examples of proper sharing behavior by filtering the Timeline for positive actions.
-
Maintain Data Privacy – The Timeline includes location and device information; use it responsibly and in compliance with data‑protection regulations.
